Time ripens… You may say, nothing much. You may claim – another meeting.. But only a while ago a special dance, a special reunion took place here, on our land..

Goddess Mother met with Goddess Daughter. Demeter waited long for Persephone, Persephone travelled and dreamt their reunion.. Have you ever seen such tender, such gentle gaze, looking inside each other‘s eyes, into each other’s souls..

It’s the time of spring, of rebirth. Persephone, our guide, the Power of Passing, is reborn in the Darkness, and then returns as the Goddess of New Life. Together, we celebrated this moment. We played and sang for the Goddess. We listened to what our Ceremony will mean, what it means for us all when the mother and the daughter meet. What changes, what transforms, when Demeter comes out to meet Persephone. When she embraces her, teaches her life, when she stands by her and through herself shows what death and rebirth mean. Thus Mother and Daughter, real ones, each other’s flesh and blood, faced each other, felt their connection. It was a beautiful moment, for them and for us, celebrating this meeting together.

Behata and MaÅ‚gosia, mother and daughter, represented for all of us the two Goddesses, Demeter and Persephone. They walked through the gates and met in the centre, on the earth, on real earth:) I felt really moved – commented someone when Demeter passed to her daughter the thread of life.. The one she got from the Goddess, the Great Mother. The mother sang to her daughter: "I gave birth to you, so that you lived, I gave birth to you, so that you died, so that you could be reborn.." The daughter answered the mother, danced around, danced around, with joy, with happiness, the White Goddess.. till her white flower crown fell off. She’s no longer a little girl, a child.. She has experienced passing, learnt it from her mother.

The Red Mother is flowing - sings the mother

The Red Mother is flowing - the daughter replies

She’ll put her arms around you,

She’ll put her arms around me.

You are my little daughter,

I am your little daughter.

You are my little river, I am your little river.

Now all the Mothers and Daughters stood in two serpents: one red, one white. Mothers flowed in the first one, girls and young women in the other. They danced, sang.. They met, touched.. Thus the connection became real in their bodies. The story became flesh.. Double Goddess returned.. We greeted Her with song and dance:

Oh Great Goddess,

Daughter’s Mother,

listen to our greeting!

You have come back

to give new life

now you’ll stay with us all.

Oh Great Goddess,

Mother’s Daughter

listen to our greeting!

You have come back

From the Darkness

now you’ll stay with us all.

Another important, beautiful moment – two women, Karolina and Beata, came to ask the Goddess to protect their Sons. They faced the Living Goddess/Spiral of Mothers and Daughters and sang. You are my little son,

You are my little tree,

The Red Mother is flowing,

She’ll put her arms around you.

You are my little darling,

We have met in our bodies,

You came straight from my belly

This is our connection!

A short break, children gave out bird cookies they baked specially for today.. Our grandmothers and grandfathers Slavs used to walk round the fields in spring, singing, praying to the Elements for abundance, for good harvest. Like them, we stood in a procession, we walked into the meadow, led by Daughter and Mother First we paid respects to our roots, those who came before us, we thanked them. Bird cookies went up, up – just like plants do – for a good omen. From the centre we walked to the Water, there we sang – gave thanks for the gifts of life, quenching thirst, purifying.. We sang for Water and all Water Creatures. For life - to grow and flourish.. In the garden we thanked Plants. We prayed for their health. We thanked the Earth. We gathered under the lime tree, to thank the Air for the gift of breath. We walked to the bonfire – MaÅ‚gosia lit it - and when it danced brightly, Behata wished her daughter fire in her head, belly and yoni. We thanked the life-sustaining power of the Fire, the power of giving death to what no longer serves us. Then there were greetings for our Persephone - MaÅ‚gosia, our Margolka. And presents – some white, some red :)

Jacek played the drums, other men joined in. Dancing started, rejoycing, feasting on the abundance of delicious dishes we had brought. There were colours, emotions, laughter. Many children, many dear guests.. All this happened in the garden.. On the beautiful property of Anija and Zbyszek Miłuńscy. Thank you for sharing this day with us.
